Date: 1/14/11 9:24 PM I just got mine today... I'm in LOVE with the plus patterns. They are fantastic. I want to make all of them, but especially the wrap top/dress, the dress with the ruched center seam, and the pants. I also like the regular pencil skirts, the jersey blazer, and drawstring waist dress, but the plus section is the best by far IMO. They are all a little spring-y so I may not make them right away, but at least I can get started on some fabulous spring items ahead of time. So excited! |

So glad you are liking so many of the styles:)
Our Jan Burda is only just arriving, probably a tad later because of the floods. ------ Vonne šOš Brisbane Australia

Date: 1/15/11 4:54 AM Particularly cute I find corset 113, jackets 108/109, and skirt 103 -- interesting back piece which you recognize only when looking at the technical drawings. It is a pity burda does not show these design details in the magazine: one pic shows the 'regular' front of the skirt, the other pic is (a) too small and (b) the skirt shown is in black (pinstrips) -- so you don't see any of the design details ... ------ Happy Sewing! |

This is the last of my subscription, but I'm letting mine lapse as I can buy good issues locally (for less than the per-issue cost in a subscription) and if I end up overlooking something, I'm fine with downloading the odd pattern off Burda's site.------ www.fehrtrade.com |

Date: 1/15/11 11:07 AM I've wondered about that for a long time--how to get random patterns without subscribing! Thanks for the info, squirrellypoo. I'll remember your tip of downloading patterns from the site!

Date: 1/15/11 11:39 AM The January issue hasn't even arrived in our local Borders yet! I borrowed a copy from a friend to get some advance tracing done, but I'm still debating renewing my subscription (December was my last issue). The fact that January and February are good issues is promising, I just don't want them to fall off a cliff again into boxy, boring and shapeless, just as I give them more money. Besides, good patterns or not, I hate tracing from the new sheets. ------ Karen

Date: 1/15/11 8:45 PM My dh came back from the post office and called up to me Burda, knowing that it would of course lure me down from my sewing room. I don't think I've ever gotten it this early. There are some very nice things in it. Hopefully I will even make some of them. ------ www.nancyksews.blogspot.com |
