Date: 1/19/11 2:57 AM I was searching google for digitizing embroidery software and came across this. Has anyone ever heard of it? It is called SophieSew. The site is SophieSew.com and the software is free. If I am reading right, it is new and still being developed. Says there will be another version in May.
Does anyone know anything about this software? |

Date: 1/19/11 8:16 AM You can do a search here. The function is just under the header when you click on the messages tab when on the home page.
But I will say most found if quite difficult and frustrating.
Try Stitch Era Universal. It can be downloaded free and used free, but you must keep your computer connected with the site while using the program. There is a way of getting it free but not sure how, again, check here. Or go to sewforum.com and search there.
Best wishes. |

Date: 1/21/11 11:39 AM I have Stitch Era Universal and like its capabilities.
I did have a problem with it this week and was wondering if anyone else did. There is a icon on the toolbar that indicates and update to the software is free. When I downloaded, my virus protection picked up multiple errors. I was able to revert my computer back to a previous date to be able to resuse Stitch Era. After checking on the website, there is no mention of a current update. Has anyone had this issue? |

I subscribe to the Yahoo SEU group but am a complete beginner. From what I've read, you need to temporarily turn off your anti-virus software before you install the updated SEU v.11, especially if you have AVG anti-virus. You may need to specifically name files in your anti-virus software in the "allow" category.
If possible, join the group because the posts are extensive and too lengthy to summarize here. The group is very helpful for all kinds of questions because SEU has an actual company representative participating.
Good luck! |

Date: 1/22/11 1:13 PM There is an update out, in fact they changed it up quite a lot. I'm still learning how to use it post-update. |
