Lena Modetrend

I came across this magazine on ebay while I was looking for something else. Has anyone ever seen this before? It appears to be a german publication. I searched on glpnews.com, and they have nothing. My Google search returned some 'questionable' results, and I don't feel like going to jail today, so I ended that real fast.

Needless to say, I bought the magazine, because it was $16 including shipping. I've spent a lot more on less, I think.

If you've seen this magazine, tell me all about it!

found this on a Dutch sewing board.

I bought one too. It looks interesting, better than the recent Burdas.

Could it be the Plus size version of those other women-named sewing magazines like Diana ?

If you look at the online store of the FNAC (Fr), there are several magazines with women's names. Not sure if they have the same publisher, though.

That's German, not Dutch

But it does look cute. I wouldn't buy it, but it's cute

Lena Modetrend is a German pattern magazine published by OZ-Verlag, the same publisher as Sabrina and Diana magazine. Lena Modetrends isn't published in regular intervals, it's always special issues. It's a plus size magazine and patterns come in German sizes 42 to 60.

There is a mini preview here. Click on "Blick in's Heft"

In the German sewing forum where mastdenman posted the link, there are mixed feelings about this magazine, some love it, others think some patterns are more potatoe sack like. The recent burdastyle contains also some potatoe sack patterns so this may be a general trend and not attributed to plus sizes.

In total, 42 patterns are in this edition. According to German sewists on the blog, not all are available until size 60.

LBNL: Mia Führer is the editor of this magazine, she has published some German sewing books including drafting a skirt.

I've noticed a lot of potato sack type patterns around lately and clothes in the store. I've made a couple and bought a couple. The ones that I've sewn look better and fit better than the purchased ones.

I received my magazine yesterday. I like it better than the previews would indicate and it has a pattern for a garment that I've been looking for. There is less than 42 patterns in the magazine because they repeat the same garment and give it a new number. For example there is a tank top listed 4 times, a jacket listed 3 times, the cami is listed 2 times. One top is listed with and without elastic around the bottom. But they do have a nice slip and bathrobe. The jacket is nice and there's a couple of nice summer dresses, peasant blouse. The sizes of the garments range from 42/44 to 50/42 and some from 42/44/ to 58/60.
