I think it's about time to bury my most favorite robe ever, a quilted cotton knit beauty I bought years ago at Target, of all places. No stores have anything even similar to it, and I'd much rather make a replacement than buy one.

Has anyone ever run across quilted knit fabric? I saw some of Fabric.com but it's all polyester and for a robe I'd rather at least some cotton in it.

Thanks!

I had some turquoise quilted knit from Hancock's... really comfortable as a winter pajama top. Bought it at least 10 years ago, maybe more. Haven't seen any recently, but I'll keep my eyes open & let you know if I run across any.

Not sure how much you want to spend, but I came across these quilted cotton knits yesterday while looking for fabric on etsy (and I thought to myself: Hmm, I wonder what someone would use these for...) --

Cottonholic quilted duplex cotton knits NAYY

The prints (many kids prints, but some florals, stripes, etc.) are $19/yd and the solids $16/yd. The seller seems to be in Korea, and the shop has over 3000 total listings, so it's obviously not the ideal small etsy seller. Also, contrary to a generous 37-inch yard policy, they list 1 yard as having only 35 inches.

The quilted cottons look nice, though.

Thank you so much! One of their choices is only $11 a yard, so now I have to think about how badly I want it.

66 inches x 81 inches for $25. How that works out as yardage, I don't know (brain's on vacation right now!).

Vintage cotton quilted knit print

Too, it's vintage, so I'd not know if you'd want to take a shot on the quality sight-unseen (since vintage fabs can sometimes be damaged).

I made my own quilted knit fabric--quilting cotton on the outside, and bamboo fleece/knit on the inside. I used the robe for a while, that is, until I slipped on ice outside my door (I should have cut slits in the side seams, but I wanted it warm!) It was heavy; like wrapping up in a quilt.
