Date: 2/4/11 6:42 PM Hi
I'm new to Knipmode and was wondering where to find the fabric that they suggest you use for each pattern.
I use La Mia Boutique and Patrones magazines and they list the suggested fabric at the beginning of the instructions for each design but I can't seem to see that in Knipmode.
Any help that can be offered will be much appreciated.

Date: 2/4/11 6:49 PM LOL Hard to find isn't it? I asked Sigrid, who is Dutch if I was missing something , but no it's not easy to find. I actually need a magnifying glass to read it. It's usually under the pictures on the photo page of all the styles. It's confusing and why they don't make it more obvious I have no idea. ------ www.nancyksews.blogspot.com |

Date: 2/6/11 6:40 AM I find that the important thing with KnipMode is knowing whether you need a knit or stretch fabrics, and you find these by looking in the instruction section, and underneath the tech drawing, it can say "tricot stoff" (knit fabrics) or "rekbare stoff" (stretch fabrics). Or sometimes they say "rekbare tricot stoff"!
If it's just for a woven, they won't say anything at all beneath the tech drawing.
Besides knowing that, I usually just use my own judgment for what fabrics would look nice with that particular garment. ------ www.fehrtrade.com |

Date: 2/11/11 1:12 AM Where does one find Knip Mode in the US? I bought one issue when I was in Switzerland, but I'd sure like a subscription. ------ Ruth

Subscriptions for delivery outside the Netherlands are only available direct from the publisher. I documented how to subscribe to KnipMode on FehrTrade.com as it's a bit counter-intuitive. But once I got mine up and running I've had no issues whatsoever - their deliveries are way more punctual than Burda's, for instance, and they come in a big protective envelope rather than thin plastic.------ www.fehrtrade.com |

Date: 2/11/11 9:13 PM I've had much better service from naaipatronen than from Stoff art. Stoff art is maybe a dollar or two cheaper, but it their service is erratic and naaipatronen usually comes in about a week while I've had knip arrive from stoffart in anywhere from a week to 2 months. ------ www.nancyksews.blogspot.com |
