Ok very early on the 7th, like just after midnight I did a BIN on a 99. Now the listing very clearly states that if I don't get a shipping notice and tracking number within one business day I get it free he's a no worry shipper. Well still no shipping or tracking on this. I sent a very polite message asking how the packaging was coming along, made no mention of his free offer, early this morning before 6am his time. No response so far. Should I be getting worried? It's not a huge amount $70, but i could put it to better use than having it tied up. Should I try and pursue this free thing? notify ebay he isn't living up to his promise? I'll give him some more time to respond, but thinking of my next action. I've encountered a couple of sluggish shippers but this is the first time I have met one with a guarantee which was to counter act a couple of negative feedbacks though his total is still 99.5 and 9 good no bad in the last month and 240 to 1 in the six month, but now I wonder if I'm going to get one of those broken machines because it's not shipped right he seems mainly to deal in auto parts. I sure hate to have to pay return shipping on this. Think I should maybe ask him to cancel the deal letting him out from the free thing and not posting any feedback on each other. Since this is sm related thought I would ask here before going to the discussion board.

Sarah.. did you check your spam.. in any case.. the track number should show up by the item in your won list.. Did you look there.
My thought is this.. I am betting its the weather we are having. I would have to look at the listing.. his feedback and such before I commented too much on this.
No I would not worry at this point. And I am betting he knows that he needs to refund your shipping.. and will probably do that as soon as he is able. Sounds like he definitely has an unforeseen problem.. otherwise he would have waited to list the item. Or could be he realizes he needs professional packing help with the machine.
He has to ship it to you within ebay guidelines.. Which last I looked was l0 days. Do not cancel the ''deal'' yet. He would have to agree to that at this point anyhow.

I wouldn't let it go feedback free. Contact Ebay that no info on if it has shipped and ask them about his offer. They can get you his contact info so you have other ways to reach. What is his return policy? If broken does he have to pay return shipping and refund you full amount including shipping you paid? He can't give you negative anyways, but if he's not doing what he says others need to be aware of that, that's why feedback is so unreliable, because some people who are pleased will post feedback, but rarely do people want to be the ones to tell the truth if something went wrong.

I may add.. it could be the shippers fault.. With all the snow across the country could be they have been unable to ship anything from his area.
Why don't you give him the benefit of the doubt for now.. You have nothing to lose really.

check for response on his ebay. see how many responed slow shipping. to be safe I would give it another week. If the machine hasn't come yet. email him or her. If there is no response contact ebay and put in for a refund. No person should wait that long for there package.
I sell on ebay every once in a while i only had one problem. It was the post office that keep the package for 15 plus days. the customer was getting worried about it. I did check with the post office and they contacted the place where it was stuck and it went forward. Comunication is the best. Good luck.

Thanks for all the quick responses. It should have shipped and he promised 24 hours and you get a ship notice with tracking number. I have been closely watching myebay it hasn't shipped and no it can't slip by in my spam filter the iPad doesn't have one and I see the 20 to 40 spams per day. Well I'll hope for the best and expect the worst, if he does refund shipping it will be a decent deal for a 99 that needs work. He's in Chicago BTW if he offered to refund the shipping I was going to tell him to split it and if he's having weather problems you'd think he would have emailed explaining asking for a grace period which I would have been happy to grant where I live we can get five feet of snow in a 24 hour period, just because it's CA doesn't mean I don't understand weather problems :). I mean sure if he sends me a photo of him getting his new cast signed at the hospital I'm going to say hey take care of yourself let's see how you're getting on in a few days give you time to get some help...it's the silence after guaranteeing such a thing I find strange. But I can only assume the worst if he won't communicate, it's really not that hard, maybe the schools should teach children most problems won't even happen if you communicate. I've got one other who hasn't shipped yet after 8 days and I'm going to send them a friendly reminder it was a second chance dealing maybe they forgot, yes I'll knock their star down a bit since I should have received it yesterday at the latest and say a bit slow to ship but got here good deal (if it is).
Overall I'm pretty happy with ebay...maybe I just read too many horror stories on here last night!

Just checked they got 3" of snow the day before the order, 0 since at O'hare, I would hope that isn't the problem, in Portland OR yeah they don't get much, but Chicago surely they are equipped to handle a dusting like that?

I don't get TV reception here and no Internet fast enough for video so I don't get to see the moving pictures of the problems you Easterners are having, but finally after six weeks of almost no snow and record breaking heat looks like winter is returning to the Sierra so maybe this will mean an easing off on all your bad weather...last year winter didn't end here till mid June than spring lasted a whole week before summer hit at least that ended six years of drought. But I'll probably do my ebay selling in Jul and Aug only to be safe, and no I won't make any rash one day promises too many things can go wrong from downed trees to snow in July to well earthquakes to guarantee that kind of service...maybe if I lived next to the PO or ups, but it's a one hour drive to nearest ups pickup point for anything bigger than an envalope.

I have relatives in Chicago...in the city and some in the surrounding suburbs. One of them said this is the worst weather they have seen since 1979 and also in 1967. So although they are pretty much equipped to deal with bad weather, I think it's pretty bad this time.

Also, this might make you feel better, but I had a similar situation. I emailed a seller in Michigan about an item and didn't hear back from them for three or four days. When they finally did email me, they explained the weather had knocked out their internet and pretty much all communications. Not only that, but an item I bought in Pennsylvania took about four days for the buyer to actually be able to get out and mail it due to the heavy snow. It's still in transit.

It may not have snowed much in Chicago, but it's amazing how snow in one seemingly unrelated place can cause disruptions throughout the country. Sometimes the plane is ready, but the crew is stuck somewhere else.

I had to wait for 1 package, the tracking number never gave any information. When I contacted the seller, they chased the package down, still sitting at the post office! Once found, I had it in a couple of days.

Still, it's not an excuse for no communication from the seller, especially after several attempts on your part. I hope you get it straightened out!

edited to add - I was refering to the 3" of snow they just got, not the whopper of a snow last week. I hadn't considered that phone/internet services might *still* be down.
