Ok, so I'm completely out of the loop because, while I've been daydreaming of that tricky Cynthia Rowley dress, and debating the whole Suede=edgy issue, Simplicity put up the full Spring 2011 pattern line up.

It also includes a new line called Lisette which I didn't know about.

So the trend to bring new and younger people to sewing continues with a Learn to Sew line I never noticed.

This makes me feel really optimistic!

I did but my internet is not feeling it (as usual) so I'll have to watch another time.

Another belated discovery: they filed several of the New Looks under "New Looks Vintage Looks" including that 6069 that everybody seems to be making. AFAIK, these patterns are not specifically labeled as vintage as BMV do but it's interesting that they are taking this marketing angle with them. I never noticed before.

I loathe the Suede line, but I really like some of the Lisette patterns! I'm wondering too if any of you have seen Simplicity go on sale online anywhere?

Thanks for the heads up. I like some of the patterns with the special cup sizing! The Amazing Fit dress and that Khaliah Alia one.

Yes, I really like the Amazing Fit 5910 dress. Love the bodice, & the cup sizing is great since the style really does require it to be fitted.

I'm not really crafty, but I think the round animal pillows are adorable. And 5930 yo-yo animals are adorable.

5920 is a really nice suit collection, a step above the basics. It would be pretty easy to customize that for a young professional. The wider leg pants are spot-on, also.

Thanks for pointing out these; I had missed it also!

With a great wardrobe that's still in the flat-fabric stage.

I like some of the Lisette patterns too. The yellow jacket with the ruffle at the neck is cute.

Here is the link to the Lisette website with more photos of the garments, plus a blog talking about the patterns. They are from the same lady who produces the Oliver + S patterns.

SewingPatterns.com have Simplicity on sale regularly. Some times as low as $2.99

I'm so glad you brought these to our attention. I'm going to take advantage of the $1.00 Simplicity sale at Joann's this weekend(starts Friday). I hope they have the new patterns in. I like 2229.

I plan on taking advantage of the sale at JoAnn's, too. My daughter needs shoes, and the shoe store is right down the road from JoAnn's. Strange coincidence, isn't it, that I decided to take her shoe shopping the same wekend as the sale?
