Date: 2/28/11 8:21 AM My home has been burglarized and hundreds of yard so fabric stolen, natuarally most of the most valuable and less of the Walmart sourced fabric though they took some prize pieces of that too. Almost all my Michaels Fabrics purchases and also silk charmeuse, lace fabric and other expensive fabric is gone. Suitings, shirtings, silks, wools, linens, laces, Malden Mills windblock and otherMM fleece. At least a thousand dollars in notions, at least one sewing machine, still digging in garage for my vintage White turquoise and white machine and beautiful oak cabinet. If you see or have seen a lot of siting and better fabrics being siold online please get the vendor name and contact info and if you can a screenshot and send. Tens of thousands overall stolen from my home. |

Date: 2/28/11 8:30 AM I had thought this was all due to young adults next door but when my Clinique started to be picked out from among drug store brands and then I went in to inspecct my fabric and found most of the best fabric gone, I began to suspect their mom as well. She's always been very hostile. |

Date: 2/28/11 8:57 AM This is outrageous! I can't imagine anyone doing this. What a b--ch! Obviously, they weren't on foot but took a pickup truck. Oh my! I'll certainly help, being a former victim of burglary myself. ------ "We don't impose our rhythm on Nature. The key is to respect and live within Her." Jean-Charles Boisset, Winemaker

Date: 2/28/11 9:05 AM OMG!!! I would start checking on ebay and craigslist immediately, and I definitely would contact the local police and file a report. Any chance any of this is covered by your homeowner's insurance. This is just despicable!!!! I cannot imagine who you must feel. I know I would be just devastated, like someone punched me in the stomach. All the time and effort you put into collecting and choosing these items....my heart really breaks for you. ------ Deb: www.thinkingcouture.blogspot.com |

Date: 2/28/11 9:06 AM I have been burglarized and know that it feels terrible, but the "take" wasn't nearly so huge in my case. I am so sorry! Will insurance be any help? |

Yes, keep an eye out on your CL.. and also at local flea markets.. Could be they took the stuff for themselves and not with the intent to resell any of it.. If its your neighbor, you may soon see her wearing a garment made from your stash. Be sure the local tech knows your serial number and can keep an eye out for your machine should someone bring it in for servicing. The police should also record the serial number.
You know I would like to know what other than sewing items they took.. this taking sewing items seems sorta personal WW.. as though they meant to hurt you.. I have to wonder who other than your neighbor might have wanted a bit of personal revenge.. Of course it could be a typical burglar.. but usually they are not after fabrics.. and would not know a good fabric from a bad one. Also unusual they knew the difference .. and was inside your home long enough to sort thru them.

Date: 2/28/11 10:06 AM Wow, that seems very specific? I can't imagine someone burgling our house and taking a sewing machine (mind you, I don't have the nice stuff you did, but still).
