Here it is!

Burda April

A bit too "80's" for my taste, but I am verey curious abou the line drawing of this dress:

I also noticed this downloadable pattern at the Burda site:

http://www.burdastyle.de/burda-style/young-fashion/cocktailkleid-aus-den-50ern-kleider-tuniken_pid_14_3405.html

I hate the mess of downloadable patterns. I wish Burda would publish these wonderful vintage models on their magazine or as a paper pattern!

I think I owned that first jacket in the 80's. I did like the tan jacket with the black binding. Very sharp. Also the vest is very stylish this season. I am happy when there are 2 or 3 garments to make and this preview has 2.

Yes, Burda does have some truly fantastic vintage patterns i the archives - I'd be thrilled too if they ran some more Mad Men'y styles or 60s Mod looks.

These previews are always very frustrating - I can't wait to see the real deal. the floral pants are cute, but that may be the fabric talking.

I like that they have a pattern for a wrap dress in a woven. Not sure about the rest, but it's a really small preview! I bet in a couple days they will have added a few more pics to it.

Is it me or did they get that out really fast, seems like I just got March, which i thought looked like loads of fun. I almost have all my tax clients done and can start doing some sewing again....

Well, the short preview seems to indicate that April 2011 will NOT be a good issue for me.

I'm interested in the flower print wrap dress Joanico posted but I'm not sure it will have the following effect on me:

Quote:
Like a flower fairy you look at the cute wrap dress. The floral print on lightweight fabric makes it really feel like spring.

I could always use a basic sleeveless knit dress like this one:

Quote:
This summer we are again all set to Navy. With black and white stripes, as on our dress. The black, double line to vest is the perfect complement.

and the dress the Mom is wearing while fixing the little girl's blue print skirt. I hope they give the pattern for it.

Quote:
So everything is in place - with our cuts. For the lady there is a great shift dress with pockets, the girl gets a cute little skirt.

So, to recap the themes:

Ethnic/Marrakech
Hippie Revival
Black and White/Colorblocking
Mother and Daughter

Waiting for the full preview with crossed fingers.

I like the shift dress, and the cut of the floral trousers. The thought of wearing floral pants with a crocheted vest makes me want to weep, so I'm trying to look past that. There *might* be some potential here. I'm so tired of the '80s 'revival' and the hippy/Ibiza/Marrekesh themes. Even worse, some of that stuff looked like it could be veering into early '90s territory, and that is *never* a good thing.

What am I doing wrong? I tried to see the previews and all I got was pop-up ads even though I have a pop-up blocker. Tried clickiing on various words (have no idea of their meanings) but never saw any of the dresses shown in this thread.

Maybe check the blocked items to see if one isn't the Burda diaporama?

When I click the link I get the photos first as a scroll down window in the Burda page then it reloads as a slideshow.

I love a lot of things here : the emerald dress (although maybe more for the fabric than for the dress itself), the floral pants (will turn a blind eye to this WTF fabric), the wrap dress, the linen dress, the color-blocked 80's dress ... Plus I remember another wide-leg pants from the preview at the end of the March issue (bottom left pic).
I may be the odd one out, but I'm eager to see more about it.
