Date: 3/2/11 8:01 PM So I went to pick up my Audrey today, and he had just opened a box of brochures so I took one. I think this is going to be a cool machine for quilters. Oh, and oodles and oodles of stitches.

Straight stitch needle plate
quilting extension table

bobbins
seam ripper.
It's a nice looking machine with a vertical bobbin. I would have taken a pic but I'm afraid that would be some sort of copyright infringement in posting the picture here. It has the same sort of shape as the Quest - more squared off, which I like better than the curvy machines.

Date: 3/2/11 8:47 PM Sure does sound nice. Glad they kept the PDQ. I have the Quest Plus and the PDQ is invaluable. |

Date: 3/2/11 8:58 PM Do you know if the Serenade is made by babylock? Are is it made by the same people that made the Quest plus, Pfaff Smarter or Singer L-500? |

Date: 3/3/11 2:56 AM Oh exciting! It isn't on the Babylock site yet is it? I was at a Babylock dealer on Tuesday and he had the Quest + on sale. He said it was to reduce inventory for taxes and that there were rumors of an update to the Quest +. I asked if it would have a thread cutter and he said he thought that was quite a ways away. I think he said it could be year or more. Guess he hadn't opened that box of handouts. LOL. Any idea what the price on this machine is going to be? |

Date: 3/3/11 4:26 AM Australia doesn't sell a lot of Babylock sewing machines (may be because it would be way too expensive?) But for pricing i thinks it would be a couple or so hundred more than the MSRP price of Babylock Quest Plus
Lets just pray it's not too expensive |

For me I am not sure if this is good news ..or bad news..
For others .. it means more than likely the price of the Quest will go lower.. I have been noticing loads of Ellangeos coming up for bid on ebay.. not sure why that is.. as well as more Esantes. So I figured something was up. There are some sewers who always upgrade to the newest and sell their current models.. Not me of course.. I keep them all. I love all my machines.. and lets face it.. way too lazy to sell them anyhow.
What my biggest problem is right now is finding the time to do research and comparison shop.. But as I have a whole year.. sigh.. I will get to it.. It sure doesn't help to have yet another machine to choose from.. I was still wanting to look at the Symphony too.. hmmm.. Seems like they are stuck on a lyrical theme for naming their machines right now.
But wow.. thanks for the information.. |

Date: 3/3/11 10:00 AM Sounds like a wonderful machine they don't even had it on their website yet. Too bad I'm not in the market for one. -- Edited on 3/3/11 10:02 AM -- ------ quiltingwolf.blogspot.com |
