Leggings Can you buy a knit pant that is anything else?

It seems that those types of pants have been replaced by the universally ugly legging. See previous threads on leggings and outerwear. I know that I will have to make these to get what I want, but is anyone else as frustrated by this as I am. ------ Marilyn January 2009 to January 2010 81 yards out and 71yards in January 2010 to the present 106.7 yards out and 146.5 yards in. January 2011 to the present: 47 yards out and 69 yards in.

Date: 3/12/11 12:09 PM You could try the Sport Knit pant or the yoga pant from Lands End. They are both cotton. I used to buy their Flat Front Knit pant maybe 7 years ago, but they kept 'improving' it every year to the point where it was no longer a good fit or a flattering cut; they've since stopped making the style (guess it didn't sell well....duh!) Also jjill has some yoga type pants that you might like. For very basic, lower priced pants, sometimes Champion has a straight leg cotton (it may be jersey) knit pant in a heathered gray that is nice. ------ blog: goodworks1.wordpress.com

I just picked up Butterick 4807. Definitely not leggings. Butterick 5539 is also for knits. McCall's 5890 has knit pants as part of the wardrobe. McCall's 3402 would work, too, especially if you want to use fleece fabric for the pants. Vogue 8565 is for moderate stretch knits. Vogue 2064 , a Donna Karan pattern, says it's for 2-way stretch knits, but the details beyond the line art aren't posted, so I don't know if that is only for the top. The pants do look knit, though. I'm too annoyed with Simplicity to search their site, but I know I've seen something recently. New Look has a couple new patterns for knit wardrobes with wide legged knit pants. 6977 and 6950 come to mind. Good Luck! -- Edited on 3/12/11 6:36 PM -- ------ Fictionfan

They're made from a substantial bottomweight stretch fabric, they're super-comfortable, and they look just like a nice, neat pair of casual black pants. I've even worn them to work and I think they're a good price/value. I have many pairs of these.

The company I work for has them mixed in with the Nike, Adidas, Russell stuff. Danskins makes many styles and you can often find closeouts during seasonal changeouts from knee-length and capris to full-length. I don't put in the dryer but hang and shake out for extra length. Penney's carries cozy slimmer sweats from Made for Life, found a pretty teal pair end of winter. Does anyone make kiddie leggings and what fabric/pattern? -

I have a pattern from one of the Big 4 that is a dress/leggings. It works fine now that I have it tweaked. I added a lot of length! Any pattern should be fine, really.
