vintage pattern contest dating a vintage pattern

It is Voge special design (with sew in label!) 5506, a two piece dress: belted jacket with elbow length sleeves and full circle skirt with pleats. I know it is very old because the instructions tell you to try it on with the heels and GIRDLE you plan to wear with it. The size 14 has a 34" bust and 36" hip. Anyone have any ideas on the date?

I don't see the 5506 listed, but they do seem to go in yearly order, and 4999 is 1959, while the 5606 here is dated Dec '62/Jan '63. since your number falls between these 2, I would presume this means yours is about one year older than the 5606, so '60 or 61', most likely 1961.
