So... anyone here using an iPad to view PR?

Are you able to chat with your iPad?

I used our 3G iPad exclusively for six weeks (mid Jan. - late Feb.) while we were in Florida and was able to do and see anything on the Internet that I could do here at home on my desktop computer. I read PR, responded occasionally to topics, etc. but I don't participate in chats so I can't say 100% on that but I can't imagine why not? Unless it uses Adobe Flash, which will not work on any Apple product.

The Chat Room is Java based. I don't have an iPad but a user told me if you do need Flash there is an Apple substitute. And that pretty much is all I know on the subject.

I just went & tried it & got an error message - "The mobile module is not available with this account". No idea what that means!

I absolutely ADORE my iPad. It does almost everything - not flash - which can be a real p.i.t.a. I don't chat, but do PR, facebook, reading, writing, watch videos, play Tetris.... DH has a 4G iPhone so he can now make it an instant hotspot and have wireless internet anywhere which will make it even more convenient for travel.

I did try to play Scrabble with my facebook friends while on a plane recently. But facebook freaked out after awhile and thought I was in Detroit or something (we were headed from Portland OR to Phoenix) and it pretty much messed up the whole iPad internet until we got home and synched up with my home computer again. That was weird. It was cool to play Scrabble up in a plane, but I will live without it in future!

What? I have Adobe Flash which works on my browsers on my Mac just fine! I am running Snow Leopard - all updated etc., and I think I even updated Flash a week or so ago....no problems. I use Firefox and Camino. Never Safari.

Apple and Adobe don't play nice together so the mobile flash does not work on mobile Apple products like the iPhone and iPad.

Well, yea...and I know SteveJ has a thing about Adobe, which is kind of irritating really, but I hope the next Mac OS which will incorporate some of the mobile app capabilities doesn't S___W with our Flash.

I should add that DH tells me there will be a Windows tablet coming out soon that will have some features the iPad lacks. The main thing it doesn't have (aside form cameras, which the version 2 does have and most people I know don't care too much about) will be USB ports. That will make it so data sticks and other devices will plug into it, giving it a lot more functionality. He uses a netbook now for work, but will likely switch to the Windows tablet when it comes out because it will be, like the iPad, lighter, easier to use and have a bigger, clearer screen. Plus it will run Flash.
