Date: 3/25/11 7:44 AM I thought I read in a recent review about a source for slide buckles but am unable to track down that review. Can anyone provide me with an online store for unique or vintage buckles? I'm not having any success when I do a Google search. ------ Barb

Date: 3/25/11 8:08 AM Hi, Barb - I have a sort of crazy source for buckles, but I haven't really used them ever. I am not sure how good they are. Here is the page where they list buckles.
Possible buckle source
To find pictures on this page, scroll down and click on the various buckle description links to see a picture. You'll have to enlarge each picture by clicking on it to see the buckles. Write down the product number of the one you like. Hit the back button to get back to the original page and then hit the Price button (written in a scroll type font) at the end of the line for the buckle page you looked at. Then you can scroll down and locate the product number to get the price. It seems you can order with no minimum and they say they are a factory direct outlet as well as a wholesale place...so maybe they might have something you want. You can also scroll to the very bottom of the page to find their HOME page. This is not a very user friendly site though. I will check some other sources, too. What exactly are you wanting? I doubt they have vintage buckles here. |

Date: 3/25/11 10:38 AM Honestly, for mine I use a buckle from an old Nine West purse that I loved literally to pieces. I loved it so much I even ripped it apart when it was no longer useful to save the pattern, and I held onto the buckle because it was a nice weight and had a neat shape. I'm sure you could find a purse at a thrift store with a fun buckle too. ------ emadethis.wordpress.com

Date: 3/25/11 12:23 PM Thanks. I'll check out those sources. I was surprised that the local Hancock's had ONE BUCKLE! Luckily it was black and matched the top I made. I just thought it would be fun to find something a little more special. ------ Barb
