I have a burning desire to make a pair a stretch leather leggings. I have contacted a manufacturer (in France) for Australian distributors but I don't like my chances. Has anyone comes across stretch leather and does anyone know where it can be bought at retail?
Thanks,

Date: 4/4/11 7:42 AM Real leather? I didn't know you could get stretch leather. I assumed that because it was a skin it had no give. And felt that I've read that before. I'm intrigued! ------ Cidell

It's fine leather bonded to knit lycra blend.
Actually, the manufacturer got back to me in less than 24hrs and there IS and Australian distributor. Yahoo!

Date: 4/4/11 8:15 AM Global Leathers in NYC had tons of stretch leather in stock when I was there in September. Give them a ring and see if they can post samples to you. -- Edited on 4/4/11 8:16 AM -- ------ www.fehrtrade.com |

Date: 8/24/12 0:04 AM Hi!
I'm new to this site and I see that you started this thread back in 2011. I wanted to try making leather leggings as well, but I dont know where to buy the fabric. I was wondering how that turned out for you. Did you end up ordering the fabric and making the leggings? Any information you can tell me that would be helpful would be greatly appreciated! Thanks. |

Date: 9/25/12 4:36 PM I've been looking for stretch leather as well. I did just find this (scroll halfway down the page), but the (pleather) in the listing makes me wonder if it's what others have used. I'm thinking of Selfish Seamstress' Helmut Lang leggings. |

2 members like this. Date: 1/14/13 10:00 PM Well, I never did make a pair of leggings and nor did I get any stretch leather either. Basically reality kicked me in the pants. My legs aren't my best feature, I live in the country and I work from home. My idea of a great night is 8 hours sleep. Hardly the lifestyle that requires leather leggings!!
One day I'll get around to making a pair for the hell of it but until then there are gaps in my wardrobe I must sew for! ------ 24th Nov 12 to 28th Nov 13
