Subject: Waistband question Date: 6/7/11 10:55 PM I was wondering if you will be teaching the drafting of a curved waistband as well as the straight waistband for skirts?
Thank you!

Subject: Class question Date: 6/17/11 11:36 PM Hi Sarah! Will this class essentially walk us through creating a skirt sloper (based on a basic pencil skirt)? And then we'll learn to make design changes to it? ------ http://www.seamstressintraining.blogspot.com |

Yes, you can certainly approach the class this way and get all of the information you need to use the pattern you work on as a sloper. As you can see in the class description, I'll provide information in the lessons for some design variations. And I'll probably offer a follow-up class next year on yet other variations.
Please let me know if you have other questions.

I will show how to fit a skirt on this body type. What needs to be done to the pattern will be determined by what is done to make the skirt fit well. But for this figure type, a lot of what leads to success is understanding about dart shaping. This will be covered in detail in the class.
Let me know if you have more questions.

Subject: class Date: 6/23/11 11:12 AM Sarah: I most likely will be signing up for your skirt class. However, do you know if the bust fitting class will be offered soon? Thanks!

Subject: Re: class Date: 6/23/11 12:54 PM Nancy,
I will probably start working on writing two bodice fitting classes in the fall. One will be fitting with a side bust dart and the other will be fitting with princess seams. I've got a daughter getting married in September, so I'm not sure when I'll be offering first one and then the other -- perhaps late fall or early winter.
