Need your help!

Last November my Mom visited, and we caved around the Raleigh NC - area quilt shops. We saw the cutest chicken project, and inquired about the pattern. We were told it was out of print, but it was Susa Glenn's Art Fabric Studio Crazy Lap Chicken. I was able to find it on the internet and purchased a pattern (kit). Mom decided to wait.

Now she wants it and we can't find it anywhere. I wrote to Susa Glenn, who confirmed that it is out of print, but I'm hoping to find one 'out there' somewhere.

I can't even find a link to post here that will give a picture - but if anyone has any clue as to where I can find it, we'd be grateful.

Thanks in advance!
Lynn

Very cute! This may be a stupid question, but is there any reason your mom can't use your pattern? It looks like the fabrics and embellishments weren't included in the original kit, so the pattern and piecing instructions should still work for her, right?

Hey Stirwatersblue:
Not a silly question at all, but I'm worried about copyright issues.
I can certainly let mom use my pattern; I'll have to copy it and send it via email as we live on opposite coasts. Just wanted to see if I could find one for her to have as her very own.

If you're worried about copyright issues, then LEND your mom your pattern after you've made it. Copying the pattern would be a violation. I share patterns with my MIL all the time; usually I hand them off to her when she comes to visit, but I've been known to pop a few in a mailer and send them to her.

But as somebody who makes her living off her copyright (I'm an author), thank you for respecting the rights of the artist! :)

"thanks, Kath, but it says 'Sorry, unavailable at this time" in big red letters."
Yes, I saw that, but you said you couldn't find it all, not even a picture.
I couldn't resist googling with a name like that - crazy lap chicken! Was curious.
It came up the very first one on the search; odd it didn't come up for you. Did you be sure to put quotation marks around "crazy lap chicken"? Quotation marks mean it must search for that exact phrase; otherwise you get all kinds of results with the same words in there, but not consecutively.
Good luck on the project.

I am searching for the pattern for the Crazy Lap Chicken (large) or Flying Chicken (medium) or the small one (Bantum?).
I have the pattern for Doreen Speckman's Swedish Chicken.
Thank you for your assistance. pj
