I just finished reading this thread about ordering from sewingpatterns.com, and having just had my own less-than-satisfactory experience with them, I thought I'd ask here:

What do you think is the best way to order a Jalie pattern if you need it ASAP?

It took me 2 1/2 weeks to get one from sewingpatterns.com, and that was after first emailing to establish that they had it in stock. They finally sent it the day after I emailed them asking if it had been sent, a week and a half after receiving my money. (Their reply: It went out today. Then I got an automated email the following day saying that it was queued for shipment.)

The Jalie web site states that if you are in the US, and you need the pattern in less than 2 weeks, best to order from a US supplier.

In the past I have ordered Jalies from Fabric.com and received them in days, but they don't stock the full line (I was buying the new dress pattern, 3024).

I don't live near any of the retail fabric stores that carry them.

I had read on this site that patternreview.com can be slow, and I haven't had any experience with them (us?) yet, so, since I was in a hurry I went with sewingpatterns.com, but only because they told me it was in stock.

The solution, of course, is not to be in a hurry. But....

If you needed a Jalie fast, where would you order from?

In my expierence, if you can get the pattern from fabric.com get it from there. I don't think PR is particually slow UNLESS PR is out of stock, then they have to wait for shipment from Jalie. You could email Deepika so see if she has what you have in stock, and if she does go ahead and order from PR. I've never had a problem with PR, but if she's out of stock, she's out of stock.

Honestly the fastest I have ever received a pattern is from PR. I buy mostly online as patterns are crazy expensive here in Australia. I didn't buy directly from Jalie as the international shipping was unreasonable. I've had good experience with sewingpatterns.com as well.

If Deepika has it in stock, I definitely say PR is fastest!

Hi. I would like to reply to this post since what you think of my site especially matters to me. I'm not sure of your order # or other details or I would check and look into this further and see what occured. However, I will let you know that there a shipping mistake occured with Jalie when sending our recent order. Our order was accidently sent to our old address that we no longer use, so that took a bit of time to have corrected and reshipped since the patterns come from Canada. Delays and shipment errors can happen, we're only human. I would appreciate if you can email me personally at Info@sewingpatterns.com attention it to me and I will go ahead and refund your order in full. I want you to be happy and wish you didn't have to wait such a long time to get your pattern and start your project. Also, as for receiving your email notification a day after you were told it was shipped, the reason this happened is because it takes about a day for our system to update and send you the email notification.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Get it from Deepika. She's awesomely fast and accurate. No delays. No excuses. Ever.

Actually, Eve, I've had two spectacularly slow deliveries here, at wide intervals. Deepika apologized and made things right as soon as she was aware of the problem, but they were honest to gosh screwups in which my orders literally got overlooked due to vacations and so on at the Mother Ship.

I recently ordered a Jalie pattern (2908 - stretch jeans) from patternreview.com and was not happy with the speed at which it was shipped. I ordered it on 4/23/11 and it appeared to be in stock (I had no indication otherwise). It was not shipped until 4/29/11. I received it a few days later, as I would expect with first class mail. I was surprised that it took so long to ship one pattern, however because I was not in a hurry for it I was not upset. If I needed a pattern quickly, however, I would not purchase it from patternreview.com.

I recently ordered a pattern from PR, and it was in my mailbox in three or four days. I'm in WV. I wouldn't hesitate to order from PR again. I was very, very satisifed with their shipping.

I suppose I should have thrown a pronoun or two in my post since I was speaking of *my* experiences. That said, I don't think it's ever taken more than 3 days for me to recieve a pattern in MI from PR (often only 2), and sewingpatternsdotcom has an "F" rating with the BBB. For that reason alone, I will continue to place my bets on Deepika.

Have you looked into any of the fabric sites? I know Rockwoods sells some Jalie, but I don't know if they sell the complete line. It seems that there is one or two other fabric sites out there that sell Jalie, but I can't recall exactly which ones.
