Date: 5/20/11 7:48 AM Just trying to find out info on this serger. I saw one posted on Craigslist but I can't find any info online. Wondering how hold and what features.

Date: 5/20/11 6:00 PM Janome makes the present Kenmore sewing machines and sergers and has for several years. I believe 385 is the manufacturer number for Janome and not the model number..you may want to check again on the model number.

Betakin is correct. Janome makes the Kenmore sergers (& sewing machines) that begin with 385. The next four or five numbers after the 385 will provide the model number that can help you find a review.
I own two of these machines, both of which I got second-hand. They work very well.

Date: 5/24/11 1:00 PM I have had the 385.16655 since 2004 and love it. It is a very solid serger, easy to thread and maintain and I have sewn everything from faux furs and delicate cottons on it. I also have the Janome 634D which seems to be a clone of the Sears serger, but sits on the sidelines in favor of the 385.. |
