I recently bought a pair of capris made of sheeting. They are so comfortable that I would like to make some. What's the best online store for cotton sheeting? I googled it but came up with fabric that looked more appropriate for bed sheets than clothing. Any sources for cotton sheeting out there that you like?

here are a couple of many "cotton sheeting fabric" finds:
Robert Kaufman 100% organic cotton 57" wide
Online Fabric Store 100% cotton 88" wide

My guess is that a high thread count poplin would give the same effect as the "sheeting" in capris... as a matter of fact, i decided to make a pair using some for summer wear today!

Thanks for the response. The pants I bought say they are sheeting but the fabric doesn't resemble any sheets I've ever had. It is heavier and coarser but soft. I wonder if they are really sheeting or some other fabric. Maybe what I am looking for is some kind of homespun? They were made in Pakistan so that means I may not be able to get such fabric here. I'd just go buy another pair but they are shorter than I like. Any ideas?

You're right, "sheeting" and "sheet fabric" are two different things. I think Susanne is onto something when she suggests a nice poplin. Maybe something like this:
