Date: 6/29/11 3:07 PM Hello PR-
I just bought 2 55"wide yards of a gorgeous geomteric design Pucci silk. I don't know what came over me, except the beauty of this fabric, but I was in Mood and couldn't stop myself. I don't even have a pattern idea yet, but I want to be true to the "Pucci esthetic" by making it simple and flowy. I don't want to say the word "caftan", but, you know what I mean. Any pattern ideas? |

Date: 6/29/11 3:39 PM I saw a cute one shoulder number in the most recent issue of BurdaStyle. I think it would look great in a pucci print. It's on the cover for the German version. Let me see if I can link to the photo...
Let's try this one: July Burda one shoulder dress -- Edited on 6/29/11 3:40 PM -- ------ Melody

I did the same thing a couple of years ago. I was overcome by the beauty of the print and the fact that it was on sale. I am still looking for a pattern, or at least that is what I am saying. I think I am just afraid to cut it. Nevertheless, I have been toying with the idea of making this Simplicity patternfrom it in the shorter length:

Date: 6/29/11 8:43 PM Would you be more likely to wear it if you made a sarong style wrap with it, for chic poolside glamour?

Not the most exciting sewing project, I know, but a good way to feature an irresistible Pucci print. ------ messymethodsewing.wordpress.com

Date: 6/29/11 10:22 PM The Emilio Pucci website has lots of nice simple sheath dresses, mostly long sleeved, but some short sleeved and sleeveless too.

Date: 6/30/11 8:52 PM I keep looking at this pattern for myself and I'm not really a caftan person. It's so simple really but I love the way the sides end up looking asymmetrical. It could easily be lengthened if you wanted too.

Date: 6/30/11 11:12 PM I'd stick with something similar to what's on the Pucci website. With a fabric like that, I like to keep with the spirit of the original. You could probably go to style.com and see past seasons too.
I've been jonesing for some Pucci fabric myself. Congrats on taking the dive.
