I have seem past reviews for Burda One Seam Pant - 3216. After searching on PR patterns, I don't think this pattern is still available. What is the current version of their One Seam Pant? I am hoping I can refer to a friend to purchase.

Oh, I know that other pattern designers have a One Seam Pant. There is a reason I am specifically looking for Burda.

Thank you.

Patty

I would also like to find this pattern, Patty. I don't know of a Burda substitute.

Usually a google search will turn up something, and here is one hit.

You can also start a search at ebay and etsy for Burda 3216. Eventually the pattern will turn up at one of those.

Vogue 2064 has very similar pants, but wide legged. I don't quite understand the 1 seam though. That B3216 obviously has 2. The inner leg seam, and then the crotch seam, apparent on the line drawing of the pattern piece.. Just the same as the Vogue 2064.

I thought I heard years ago about a one-seam style showing up in the Burda magazine. Surprised Burda didn't keep it out. They have a few patterns still out that are just as old. It never gave me the shaping I needed but I did make a pair and have the original pattern.

I have a vintage pattern that is a one seam from a LA independent designer. No such thing as an original design....that's for sure.

Louise Cutting, the pattern designer, worked for years with Burda, conferring with them about design features, and eventually came out with a pattern for her own "One Seam Pants" (she is the originator of the term in its commercial sense, btw). Her pattern is seriously based on her long experience teaching pants construction with a Burda pattern of this type.

I have used her pattern, and have to say that its lines, to say nothing of the fitting and sewing instructions in the envelope, are just superb.

You can look at the details here.

Louise Cutting One Seam Pants I cannot remember all the details, but Louise Cutting took the Burda pattern and improved it with lots more details and ways of modifying it.

There used to be a thread on the boards about the pants and Louise would post to it on occasion.

Burda doesn't currently have a version of this. Your best bet is to find 3216 online somewhere.

Louise has a new updated version of the One Seam that just came out. You can find it on her web site.

Louise's new pattern has a slimmer fit option and improved pockets. If you try them, do use her elastic. It's the best.
