So I am all googly over Patrones, and I have seen some pretty insane prices for it to ship to the US. http://www.global-magazines.com offers it for $150 Euros, or under $210 US.
I was wondering if anybody has ordered from this website before, or somewhere else for a similar price.
I might go the ebay route, but really, I'd talk myself out of spending that much an issue if I didn't make a long term commitment plunge now, so I am hoping somebody has had good luck with this magazine site!

If you want a subscription you can also subscribe directly from Patrones for 100 euro. Just email suscripciones@rba.es.

I was loathe to do it after reading a few posters saying they had had problems. But I've never had a problem.

IIRC, Global Magazines is just a middle-man and the subscription still comes from Spain so...skip the middle-man?

Maybe someone can confirm this. You don't say if you're in the US, CA or elsewhere. Did you look up the thread on this subject? It's around here somewhere...

ETA Sorry, you do say you are in the US.

Here it is! There's a ton of different sources in the thread, both for subscriptions and individual issues...

Thank you so much for the replies! I am a bit wary about going direct but that is quite a bit of savings. Maybe this will be the magical event that gets me to learn Spanish finally.

Actually, I can't seem to find a link to Patrones direct on that thread, or to find it through google. So if anybody has one (or maybe I'm just missing it...) I'd appreciate it!

(And thanks for the reminder I should have my location in my info on the side too, not sure why I don't!)

Their website is so minimalist it almost doesn't exist, but is here - Patrones. Very well hidden.

Thank you for the information - I just wanted to update this with more information in case anybody else is interested. (I also emailed Manequim out of curiosity about them too, but didn't receive a response)

I emailed suscripciones@rba.es to ask about a Patrones subscription to the US, and got this in reply. Seems price is stable at 100 Euros still, so since it's much less expensive than going through a vendor, I think I will give it a shot.

"The price of the subscription to Patrones Magazine for a year (12 issues) is 100 euros. The subscription price includes the shipment expenses.

To order a subscription, please provide us the following information:
- name, surname, birth date, complete shipment address and passport no. or ID no.
- payment information VISA, AMERICAN EXPRESS or MASTERCARD credit card indicating the expiry date

You can send your order by answering this email or by post to the following the address:

RBA REVISTAS
Dpto. de Suscripciones
Apartado Correos 14.776
28080 Madrid

You can also contact us at our Customer Service phone no. 902 392 391 or at fax no. 902 392 902."

I've got instructions for subscribing to Manequim at the end of this post. I'm surprised you didn't get a response - they have always been super quick with me - I'd check your spam filter for a response, if it hasn't already been auto-deleted.

In the other thread, the experiences of other people have mostly been that Patrones subscription via third-party sellers are WAY more reliable than subscriptions direct with the publisher. Please read through that before taking up a direct subscription, as there were quite a lot of unhappy people.

I am one of the unhappy ones with the Patrones subscription directly from RBA...
My personnal experience is that they are unreliable. Sometimes the magazine arrives correctly, sometimes they arrive with a delay of 2 months or not at all. I already got tired of asking for replacement issues... they always comply, but I did not find the comment thet gave me once "someone at your post office must enjoy the magazine quite much" that amusing
I would recommend ordering with them only if you don't mind the waiting and the hassle.
I also subscribe the Manequim and the portuguese version of the Burda and never had one problem with those. Usually I even have my Burda a week before the dutch version is for sale (I am portuguese living in Holland)
