Date: 8/16/11 2:22 PM I am contemplating lengthening Vogue 1250 into a maxi length for my second version. I could swear I saw a maxi version here on PR, but now I can't find it!
Anyone seen a maxi version or am I crazy? And is this a good idea or am I even more crazy?? ------ **Katie**

Date: 8/16/11 2:51 PM I've only seen it (and made it twice now) in the shorter length, but why not? If you like maxi lengths, this dress should be easy to lengthen... ------ Debora, of Chicago and Frankfurt

Date: 8/16/11 3:48 PM Well, considering Donna Karan has a cowl maxi knit dress in her RTW collection, I think yo u could pull this off with V1250.
The RTW dress isn't similar to the pattern but cowl+maxi is still very chic, IMO.

Date: 8/16/11 4:15 PM If you wanted, you could use a sleeve from another pattern (using the shoulder/underarm part) to make it long sleeved.
Just some food for thought. I like the idea so much that I just might get the pattern and do that myself! I think that it would make a great fall/winter dress!

Date: 8/16/11 7:21 PM I've loved this dress since I saw it come out!!! I'm planning on making something similar and even some of the fingerless gloves!
I don't see why you couldn't lengthen the 1250. It would look really cool! ------ http://kimsewsilly.blogspot.com/ |

Date: 8/19/11 9:47 AM Well, I went for it! I love this pattern so much. It sewed up in an hour and a half. Talk about instant gratification! Anyway, I just added 22 inches to the skirt part of the big pattern piece. The skirt is straight so it was very straightforward. I'm really pleased with how it turned out, and DH wants to know when I'm making another one, so I think it was a success.
