Need to add length to a dress bodice but what to do about thedarts ???

I like it alot but the dress is too short in the waist for me . I'd like to make it again but I would like the waist seam to sit on my natural waist. Cut the bodice pattern horizontally midway through the dart length and then spread the pattern the amount you need to lengthen it by. Then blend or draw in new dart lines from the point to the waist.
