I am trying to find a very specific Vogue Pattern that came out in the mid to late '80s, early '90s. It's a fitted jacket with a deerstalker-like cape on it. There may be a skirt with it and I'm pretty sure you could make it without the cape. I'm also pretty sure it came in one of the smaller pattern envelopes.

I bought the pattern when it was new, got rid of it a few years ago and the durned thing has been in the back of my brain ever since. Can anyone help with a number or the actual pattern? If I at least had the number, it would make an eBay search a lot easier.

Not helpful but...I did the same thing you did: had a jacket pattern, thought I would never make it again, tossed it...and wish I never did.

You've got a shot: at least you remember it was Vogue. Good luck!

Just search 'vogue cape' and a ton will come up, a bunch in the smaller envelopes...

You might check the web sites that sell vintage patterns. Go to the "Merchant Gallery" tab on the top here at PR, and there is a vendor that advertises (supports PR!) called Patterns from the Past. There have been other vendors of old patterns here, over time, that advertise on PR but I can't remember the names right now.

I'm so sorry not to have gotten back to this sooner - alas, the day job got busy.

Anyway, thanks for all the input. I'll keep doing searches. I'm also trying suit and coat as search terms, just in case.

I think I remember seeing this in a blog post somewhere that mentioned "recycled" patterns in other companies. The example in the blog was a deerstalker-like jacket/cape that used to be Vogue but was recycled to Butterick. A quick scan on Butterick doesn't have it though! :(

Could it be called an Inverness Cape also? There are instructions and patterns out there for these if you google it.

Could you be thinking about Vogue 7650??
It is a "Very Easy Very Vogue" pattern from 1989... A princess seam, hip-length jacket --- with or without an elbow-length cape. The pattern also includes a skirt.
