Subject: Pattern Photo Anatomically Impossible? Date: 8/29/11 1:29 PM

We're used to the drawings based on skinny extra-leggy croquis, but this is a photo. Check out the photo for the new pants pattern, V8751. Do you agree the model is standing on some sort of stilts? It appears she is longer from heel to crotch than crotch to the top of her head. This photo Hmm.

Well, maybe I was too quick to judge. We can't see her shoes. Maybe she is just exceptionally long legged and wearing really, really high heels.

I'm long legged and definitely longer heel to crotch than crotch to the top of my head. And that's in bare feet! It doesn't surprise me that a long legged model would be too. People come in all shapes and sizes, which is why sewing is so awesome.

I still remember my surprise when I was standing next to a fellow who was significantly taller than me, and yet his legs were the same length as mine. In other words, quite a long torso (and short legs). She does look remarkably long legged, but that's why she's a model....

I've noticed this sometimes in high fashion shots - the legs look abnormally long .. and I wonder if the photo has been photoshopped but I guess that's just how these girls are built.

At one time Muscovites considered 5 inch heels fashionable. Thanks to the installation of poorly constructed brick sidewalks, they're having second thoughts.

"Side Length from Waist: 107 cm (42 inches)"

Draw you own conclusions.

That's what I used to look like as a teen (skinny) and wearing platforms. And I have short legs! That is proportional though, as I am only 5'2". No 40" inseam here.

Ann, Kkkkaty, and Tourist: Seriously? I am totally jealous! I suppose you suffer in that it is much easier to shorten purchased trousers than lengthen them, but I would love to have long legs!

Thanks for setting me straight. 5-6 inch heels would make the diff.
