145 yards of Bias Tape
On a whim, I purchased 145 yards of red and white striped bias tape. What do I do now?

Hello PR!

Summary: Just purchased 145 yards of red and white striped single-fold bias tape. Wondering if anyone has ideas for using it.

In my sewing adventures, I have used bias tape quite a few times, especially in easy-rated patterns. Like Simplicity's Sew Simple #2004 (http://www.simplicity.com/p-6437-sew-simple-misses-dress.aspx). It is a simple way for things to look finished.

Anyway, I started searching the web for bias tape options and I found myself at jkmribbon.com. I guess I was intrigued by the red and white stripes, and the bulk quantity, and thought - why not. There is also a 35% discount for first time buyers.

So, I have my standard go-to bias tape patterns, but thought I would see if anyone else has ideas...

You can see the bias tape here: http://www.jkmribbon.com/Store/product/jkm-bulk-145-yd-single-fold-striped-bias-tape-cntr-fold,4578,78.htm

I think you need to start selling red and white striped single-fold bias tape.

Finishing an apron edge can takes yards and yards of bias tape. I made one in which the tape was also sewn to the sides, crossed over in the back, came to the front and tied. Whew! Lots of bias tape there.

I also make cosmetic bags for home and travel and finish them with bias tape.

What else? Potholders and placemats and anything casual where you need to finish the edges. You could also get creative and zigzag together several widths and make it a pocket on an Independence Day apron or use as a hatband.

This is all I can think of at the moment. The tape won't rot so you can have it for a long time so years from now you may think of other uses for it.

I have not yet begun to procrastinate

Wait for a contest.

Actually, a woven pillow could be kind of nifty.

I think it would be cute to finish the edges of a tiered skirt.
