Date: 9/5/11 3:00 PM I'll be teaching my niece how to sew and we'll be working on a project together for about a month. I want to leave her a book of small projects so that she can carry on without me, that would be interesting to a teenager.
I'm thinking small easy projects to build her confidence.

Date: 9/5/11 10:30 PM Hi Loti,
Have you taken a look at Sew Everything Workshop by Diana Rupp? It covers a lot (in a good way - I don't mean "a lot" as in too much), but is fun and has lots of confidence building projects - ranging from a pin cushion (super easy) to a dress (still simple and easy).
Here is the Amazon link: http://www.amazon.com/Sew-Everything-Workshop-Step-Step/dp/0761139737
Have fun! ------ "Enthusiasm is more important to mastery than innate ability, it turns out, because the single most important element in developing an expertise is your willingness to practice." (Gretchen Rubin, The Happiness Project) |

Date: 9/5/11 10:38 PM I hadn't seen this book, I'll have to see if any local bookstores carry it. Building confidence is a biggie, I want her to enjoy the experience, and not get too frustrated. Thanks for suggestion. ------ "A girl should be two things: classy and fabulous.”
