TL98Q stopped mid stitch, no power to machine. After many emails etc to store and Juki, all of whom replied with "send the machine" - got a call from Elmore Shirley www.themachanic.com in Georgia who was referred by Juki to respond to my problem. He told me to first try changing the fuse:
UNPLUG the machine. Open the three screws that hold the thread holder/cover plate on the back of the machine. Look to the upper right side at a small glass and metal tubular fuse (next to it on the circuit board it says "120V/5A") If the fuse is black, it needs replacing. Remove the fuse by pushing gently up on it from the bottom of it with your screwdriver. Buy a 22mm 120 volt 5 amp fuse from Radio Shack (3 for $3.20) that looks the same. Slide the fuse in place top first and pop it gently back into the small metal "arms". Screw the back plate on. Plug in foot pedal to machine, then power cord.
And no, I don't know whether or not doing this yourself will void your warranty.
My machine works perfectly again, and it was fast, easy and cheap to repair. Thanks to you Elmore Shirley.

Thank you! Great info! Printed it out to put with my Juki TL98Q in case I ever need it.

That is awesome. Was your machine still under warranty?

Store said electronics not under warranty, and technically it was not, but Juki said the power board would be if that had gone out - which is why I think it's a good idea to try all avenues before you commit to a large expense. Everyone I contacted about the machine was responsive and helpful, by the way - I have no complaints - it's just that one person was willing to trust me with the screwdriver to do it myself and told me how.
