I fell in love with them and thought I knew what I wanted to wear with them but now I'm stumped.

Any suggestions?

Not my first choice, but I think that the wide leg, almost palazzo style pant that seem to have come back in style would look good and balanced with these, particularly in a menswear type stripe. High waisted trousers would also look very sharp with these. But what I think would be really sharp would be a midi length gored walking skirt. The snazzy tailored shoe flashing out with each step with the skirt flouncing out below the knee will be snappy! All of these things are very forgiving. If you have particularly shapely ankles and calves think of Eve Arden in that longer than below the knee length dress. (Not quite middle of the calf). Bert, on Project Runway made a dress in that length and the judges had said that although it is a difficult length, he pulled it off. It would have to be a sporty but structured look. A dress pattern doesn't come to mind, but something with a skirt shaped like DonnaKaran's Vogue V1202. Also, think Renee Zellweger in the movie, Chicago, attending a pre-fifties polo match, or super snazzy newsboy look.

Love the shoes. They are a great find. Some pant fabrics and leg widths or cuffs just seem to scream for a more substantial shoe to add balance to the total look. Bet if you take these to the store for a try on session you'll notice how perfect they are for something like Vintage Vogue Pattern 2206.

How about grey tights, and the gorgeous dress you reviewed yesterday?

I googled 'what to wear with oxfords' and 'what to wear with oxford pumps' (I'm having a slow day) and got loads of hits. Here's something from Chickadvisor: How to wear oxford pumps. I like the idea of contrasting them with a flirty dress, if you can pull that off.

I'm behind on Project Runway so I'll need to check that out. I'm definitely more of a skirt or dress person but I do like the wide legged pants. I'm afraid high waist though won't work but they would look awesome with that.

I love the skirt idea I made a front knife pleat skirt that might look cute with them. It's linen but it's an easy pattern and I could do one in wool for winter. Love the tights idea!!!

Thanks! I'll check out that link. I'm a sucker for oxfords and menswear shoes.

What adorable shoes! My first thought is..."what wouldn't you wear with those?"...some ideas that spring to my mind include wide-legged pants (tailored) in grey, black, or almost any color, really (red!). Or pinstripes. A pencil skirt with tights..a jean skirt (more tights, perhaps).....

You know I bought some red poplin to make some pants. I'll have to get that out and wash it. Thanks!
