If we head up to A Fabric Place, it could be a joint meetup with folks from Baltimore. I am not really familiar with that side of Baltimore, but my favorite tea/coffee shop is not far away in Timonium.

We could carpool if desired and meet up at the Greenbelt metro station (free parking on Saturdays, metro access, close to 95/BW Parkway) for the Baltimore scenario. I think it is about 45 minutes drive from Greenbelt to the store.

Sticking in the local area is fine for me too. I am the last person to buy more fabric but I just want to meet Sherri and Michael because we have bought a lot of stuff from them in the past couple of years. DH will probably come along and bring some of his suits that were made from Michael's textiles while we were in Korea.

I am in Arlington, where are you Nikki?

I am in Greenbelt, so for me it is actually faster to drive to Baltimore than Virginia. But we will meet up wherever is best for everyone!

Hi. I'm interested, too. Have you thought about Mekong River Textiles near downtown Silver Spring? It's in a private home but the owner has several open house events annually and this might could be one of those times. I have been to several and the fabrics there are unlike those in many other venues. I would certainly suggest a pre-visit, though, as it would be a very unusual sort of shop. There is one store review here.

I love the idea of the Rockville G Street. Even though a lot of us go there, it would probably be a really fun sort of visit to go as a PR group. Have never been to a PR event--thanks for organizing!

Mekong river is having their open house soon, I think In two weeks. I do have the info for that and can post it if anyone is interested.

Gstreet used to have a bunch of meeting and classrooms in their old location. I'm not sure if any of the current locations have rooms like that - if so maybe we would be able to make use of one.

Mekong River or G Street or Baltimore sounds like fun. Still not sure of my schedule, but want to pencil in this get-together.. I'm in Silver Spring, near Forest Glen Metro, right where Ga. Ave. crosses the Beltway. Free parking on Saturdays at Forest Glen Metro too.

Is there a preference for time of day? If there is a preference for earlier, we could do lunch or coffee and then a fabric spree; otherwise fabric and then dinner or an afternoon snack.

If we get a large enough group, I will see if we can get a meeting room (like one of the classrooms at G Street) to have a swap, cake, and hang out. Otherwise we could do the swap and stuff at a nearby restaurant. Of course, anyone is welcome to come to any part of the meet-up that they would like!
