Date: 9/19/11 7:26 AM A news reader had a beautiful dress with ruched elbow length sleeves in a drapey knit. Insteaf of the lower edge of the sleeve being straight it was drawn up into an inverted " V " which was very attractive, I have a pattern for the plain edge ruched sleeve but would like help for the draft of this edge like a ^ only much larger ! Can anyone help or does anyone know of a pattern that gives this edge - with my DH in hospital at present I have not the time to browse for long.
Thanks so much in advance. x |

Date: 9/19/11 2:23 PM Hmmm... I guess I always assumed that the V shape was created by the drawing-up of the ruched fabric, similar to what's happening with this neckline, which is gathered to the sides of the opening and held in place by those little rosettes.
However, if you wanted a more profound V, I'm not sure why you couldn't just cut a wedge-shaped piece out of your current sleeve pattern and try that. ------ ~Gem in the prairie |
