I saw this great article in the NY Times last week, and the details are on the columnist's blog: Can Old Dresses Help a Kenyan Dressmaker? Jane has successfully lifted herself out of poverty by re-fashioning old bridesmaids dresses, but needs help again due to adverse circumstances. I plan to send her a few pieces of my dressier fabrics. Most charities that ship good directly to developing countries end up with far too many goods and not enough funds for shipping.
