Date: 9/20/11 3:28 PM Right now I am sewing on a Brother CE5000. Very basic inexpensive machine that I bought when my 30 yr old kenmore died mid-project.
Hubby has consistantly argured with me that as long as the cheap machine sews, then I dont need a better one. I have held my ground and kept looking for a higher end model at what I consider a reasonable price.
Yesterday I found a brand new Brother pc 420 prw for sale on ebay for 380 with free shipping. Total surprise to me when I mentioned it to hubby and he started making lower offers on it. Kept telling hubby that 380 is a great price for that machine, but hes a tightwad like me so he had to offer lower.
Finally him and the seller have agreed on 370 and hubby is off to the bank to deposit money so we can pay for it. I figure in 10 to 14 days I am gonna have a new (and I hope great) machine! WooHoo! |

Date: 9/20/11 5:39 PM Years ago, when I first started collecting and using vintage sewing machines, DH kept asking why I needed more than one. I finally asked him if he needed only one screwdriver, or one golf club? We need the right tool for the job.
That's my story, and I'm sticking to it. ------ Pat in Rockport, TX
