Ok I am sewing Simplicity 5226. It is view B. 5226
Already, I am only at the very beginning and I am a bit confused! On step 4 it tells me to press under 5/8" on back opening edges of bodiece back. Then it tells me to make a narrow hem and tuck it under the raw edge to meet crease. Then press. Ok, all of this I get. After this it says: "Stitch hem in place, squaring stitching below opening."
What does that mean??? I have never heard of square stitching. Could somebody please clue me as to what this means?

I have this pattern also, though I haven't sewn it up yet. Look at drawing #7 next to your instructions for that view. See how the stitching lines go down vertically on one side, crosses horizontally when you come to the end of the neck opening, then goes back up vertically on the other side? Looking at those stitches, the turning point from vertical to horizontal, then back to vertical forms a square around the end point of the opening. Hope this helps a little. Sometimes too much information is more confusing than not.
