DS has requested that I make him an iron man halloween costume. He already has a mask. What would you do? I haven't found a pattern for it anywhere.

I'm thinking a sweat suit of dark red/brown fabric would work.

A set of football pads and a can of spray paint would be a good start...LOL

This is not that uncommon for DIY costumers. I'd recommend doing a Google search for "DIY Iron Man costume" or "homemade Iron Man," etc, and seeing how other costumers have managed it.

when trying to find popular comic book/movie/video game/animated series characters, check out cosplay websites like cosplay.com. Most good sites have a search function, where you can type in the name of the character, and see how others have made their own costumes. Some of them get pretty elaborate.

I second the Cosplay.com forums..they rock. It's a good way to find out what works and what doesn't and what you can do with different budgets. ; )

I've never heard of them, but I'll check it out. I decided to use a red sweatsuit as a base and add embelishments to look like iron man.

Thanks!

I helped a friend make one out of PVC pipe...it took 3 months and the wiring for the lights...difficult. for a quick one just a few bits of PVC on a sweat suit might work.
