I've noticed that one of the most frequent questions in sewing forums is the asking if "this" or "that" machine can sew over thick denim seams.
Could we make a list here where we could name the brands and models of our machines stating if it does or if it doesn't sew well over thick seams?
It would be helpfull for those that are thinking of buying a new machine and are interested in this feature.
I will start with the machines that I have tried.

Brother Innovis 4000 - yes with a little difficulty.
Pfaff Creative Vision 5.5 - No
Pfaff Expression 4 - No
Juki F600 - Yes

All my machines will sew thick seams;
Baby Lock Ellegante
Elna Pro Quilter's Choice (7200)
Singer Rocketeer (500A)
Singer 1507
Singer 2263 (not mine, but I do use it a couple times each month.)

Perhaps the question was about the thick seams encountered when sewing hems in RTW jeans. That's 16 layers of denim!

The Elna and BL both have a release button on the presser foot that will allow the presser foot to "flex" as the thick fabric feeds through the sewing process.

On the other machines, I use a jean-a-ma-jig or hump jumper. The Rocketeer is about 50 years old and the other two Singers are very inexpensive models

The right size and type of needle is also important.

And then, there is the ever helpful nylon head mallet for pounding those thick seams to submission!

Another helpful feature I look for on a sewing machine is the presser foot pressure adjustment. Have it on all but the 2263.
