I'll be in Philadelphia next week. I usually stop at the Jomar on Grant Street. I know they have other branches and I'm considering checking them out. Does anyone know how the various branches compare to the Grant Street store?

I would check out the entire Fabric row (around 5th street and between South and Christian). They are pretty awesome. There was one that was liquidating a few weeks ago and their home decor fabrics were all $1-2/yard.

I moved from Philly in January, so my information could be a little out of date.
1. Whitaker: All fabric comes in through Whitaker, so they usually have the biggest (not always best) selection of remnants, $1 and $2 fabrics.

2. Swanson: I went to this store the most as it wasn't to far from work. Very hit or miss, but the most organized.

3. Grant: Smallest fabric section of them all. Good overall selection.

4. Norristown: This one is out past King of Prussia mall. The lady thatbran the fabric department out there was really good and for some reason was always able to get the best cuts. They used to gav an excellent selection of quilting fabrics and designer apparel remnants. If you can make the drive out there, you can always find something.

Thanks, Kisha. We've already gone to Philly and returned but I'll try Whitaker or Norristown next trip if possible. Actually, I'm a Philly native but have lived in Pittsburgh for 40+ years. I used to go to Philly regularly to see my parents who lived near the Grant St. Jomar, hence my familiarity with that store. The trip two weeks ago was the first time I've been to the city since they passed away and I sold their house--two years ago. I don't know why I never tried the other Jomars over the years.
