Date: 11/12/11 8:32 PM I'm seriously considering this machine as my first serger; looked at one today but haven't test-driven it yet. I haven't seen any reviews of it on PR, but I'm wondering if anyone has one and just hasn't had a chance to review it. The price seems prety good at $500 but I'd love to hear other opnions before making a decision.

Date: 11/26/11 3:44 PM I bought this machine earlier this summer and it is my first serger. I have not written a review for it mainly because its been in storage for three months (we moved/waiting on new house) and I only was able to use it for a few weeks. It took me a while to get the stitches to look correct, most of that was lack of experience. I was told to use quality needles and good serger thread and not to buy the bargin threads.
Overall, I like this little machine. It's a good size and it works well, not to mention it's affordable. I don't have any trouble threading the machine, it's not difficult. After using it a for a few weeks and reading many serger books from my library, I wish I had a coverstitch and chainstitch. I have read many threads where sewist prefer a dedicated coverstitch machine (or second serger) so don't let that deter you but be aware this machine doesn't have them.
I am looking forward to getting it out of storage next week!
I hope this helps. |
