Date: 11/13/11 10:31 AM They look alike at first but I seem to think the Hclass is a bit better. Does anyone know? I bought the Quartet from HSN but now am thinking about returning it for the Hclass.

Date: 11/13/11 11:50 PM Is there any reason why you don't like the Futura Quartet?
The machines a very similar except for the fact that the Hclass has the auto thread cutter, extra stitches and it is more computerized I guess. |

Date: 11/14/11 3:46 PM I think they are basically same machine but Husqvarna Viking has its own "swedish embellishments". Sometimes these VMS-machines are confusing Husqvarna Viking Diamond Deluxe and Pfaff Creative Sensation are almost same machines |

Date: 11/14/11 9:32 PM I'm thinking the Hclass looked more like an upgrade to what I have. I probably don't need either one but that Hclass looks good compared to the Quartet.
I own a Futura 350 that I never used for embroidery, the Stylist II set from HSN, the Singer L500 from HSN, the top line Singer serger and a Confidence which I broke sewing over a bra underwire :wow: |

1 member likes this. Date: 11/23/11 6:55 PM I just ordered the Futura Quartet from Singer. The accessory package just was better than that of the Husquarna Viking Hclass 600e. Singer, Husquarna Viking and Pfaff are all manufactured by the same Company which is SVP worldwide. That's probably why the Singer and the Viking look similar. I would have liked the Viking for the stitch options but i also own a brother sewing machine which has plenty of stitches. For the sewing (I mostly do Garments) 30 stitch functions are plenty. The only thing that bothers me a bit is that it only has 2 buttonholes but I have 6 different styles on my Brother sewing machine. So I think for $950 for the Singer vs. the $1699 for the Viking I am ok with the singer. |

I have several machines that have more stitches and extra's also so I think I'm going to stick with my futura instead of the Hclass. |

Date: 11/28/11 4:43 PM I went to my local Joann's with my husband (he is an engineer and knows how machines are built and functioning) and though he couldn't possibly open the machines up told me that the Viking hclass and the Singer Quartet/xl400 are most likely the exact same machine, except for the computer sewing part, meaning the hclass has more regular sewing stitches.
I can't wait to get my package with my Singer Quartet. It will be delivered tomorrow and hopefully UPS won't require a signature because i most likely won't be home at that time. If that happens I have to wait a day longer for my machine |

Date: 6/27/12 12:37 PM Hi Susi,
How are you liking the XL400 so far? I am thinking about buying the Futura XL400 w/Grand Slam Embroidery Package for about $948.
Is the XL400 Quartet totally different machine than the XL400?
Thanks! |

Date: 2/19/13 8:29 AM I bought a used Viking 600e and so far so good....I am loving the machine...well made, sews like a dream and embroiders beautifully. I did notice that it is the same machine as Singers Futura XL550 that just came out....but I believe that the Viking has more metal internal parts where Singer has more plastic internals. That is what I have read more than once over my recent comparison shopping. |
