Date: 11/14/11 5:36 PM I like to use my walking foot when sewing a binding on to a quilt top. I thought I'd try zig-zagging on the front, but wasn't sure if my walking foot would like that. It has the clearance for it space-wise, but wasn't sure if it would be a good idea or not.
Any thoughts? |

Subject: I dont want to abuse my walking fott Date: 11/14/11 5:48 PM THe ony issue is the needle opening. If the needle opening on the foot is wide enough to zig zag, you will be fine. The foot itself doesn't care, it's coordinated with the feed dogs. I've used a blind hem stitch to bind a quilt without any issues |

Date: 11/14/11 6:13 PM If you're not sure about it, try it by hand-walking the needle with the fly wheel instead of using the presser foot...if the needle clears the opening and there doesn't feel like there's any weird resistance, you're probably fine. ------ emadethis.wordpress.com
