I have been given a Viking Husqvarna Classica 100 listed sewing machine 790C and the tension is messed up. I have never sewed in my life and wanting to learn how to sew.

This lady, bless her heart, gave me the sewing machine and explained that the tension is messed up. I don't even know what a tension is and does or how to fix it. There was no manual with the machine and I have looked it up on the net and the only thing I came up with is to download one that costs $8.00. I have no credit card so I have no way of getting the manual.

DOES ANYONE KNOW WHERE I CAN GET A MANUAL?

This is what the sewing machine says:

VIKING HUSQVARNA CLASSICA 100
NO. 8872801
HVAB MADE IN SWEDEN
LISTED SEWING MACH. 790C

I would really appreciate it very much if someone would help me.

I AM IN DESPERATE NEED OF A MANUAL FOR MY SEWING MACHINE SO I CAN LEARN HOW TO SEW, RUN A SEWING MACHINE, AND HOW TO TRY TO FIX THE TENSION, ONCE I FIGURE OUT WHAT IT IS!

Thanks so much for all of your help, Kelly

I can't help you with the manual but sewing machines, in general, are all pretty much the same unless you're talking fancy computer stuff.

Here's a YouTube Playlist for sewing machine tune-up. I'd browse through these and see if anything addresses the tension specifically, regardless, it sounds like it may need a simple tune up and it's not that hard to do. Once you've gotten everything working correctly, the tension issue may clear up. If not, at the very least, you'll have a better understanding of your new sewing machine.

Congratulations on your new machine and welcome to sewing!

I have a Viking 120. It doesn't have a manual either. I was given a download for the 150-185-190 which is similar. If you would like me to forward it to you, lmk

Building on hese 61, here's a Direct link to the Classica 100 manual (tinyurl'd, since the original is super long).
