I am looking for a tried and true pattern for a lined jacket...hip
length...wool.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
Cathy

If you are looking for a fairly classically styled, , princess seam jacket with great shaping, try the Jalie 2559 --

Quote:
Lined suit jacket with tailored sleeve and collar, fitted feminine styling, front and back princess seams, two-button front closure and two welt pockets with flap.

It fits beautifully and was nice to sew. I sewed this for a tiny friend of my DD's and she is delighted with it. I see that the pattern is on the 'to be discontinued' list so perhaps Jeane has a new one in the works?

PS - Take a look at Claire Shaefer's Vogue jacket patterns -- great styling AND wonderful instructions.

Did you ever find a pattern you liked? I've been trying to get one made also but I need somewhat simple so my choices have been
Simplicity 2446 (Amazing fit) or Silhouette 1900 or Silhouette 1750. I did make a Burda, but the shoulders were really large. I'm in the process of trying to fix that.

I have a long back waist and the Silhouette patterns don't tell you what theirs is anywhere. I just posted a question about that to see if anyone knows. I think it's 15" by measuring, but that seems really short.

I really like the looks of the Simplicity, but Simplicity says I need to use the size 16 or 18 and then transition to the 20 at the waist and hips. I'm afraid I'll goof that up.
