Date: 12/6/11 8:22 PM I have a book called Jazzy Kids by Summa design. they are basically broadcloth tops with boat necks in pieced or color blocked patterns. I think the style with bows look outdated. I'd like to make a few for charity. I have a whole lot of broadcloth weight fabrics. I don't think all cotton is a good idea. I want it wash and wear.
My question is, would a pieced top look outdated? These are somewhat below th waist by maybe 6 inches with t shirt necking for a ribbed bottom. They are awfully fun and you can have hidden pockets. I'm thinking a hidden zipper would be fun. I have these ancient dress side zippers that could be used. ------ fabric purchased in 2012 ... a lot! sewed maybe 25 -40 yards, donated 6 boxes of fabric to a charity going to Mexico each year. Got great deals on fabric at the textile center sale last April but am teaching sewing to refugees again. It will be used. |
