I have some pretty polyester lycra in a beautiful shade of a light teal that I would like to sew up a long sleeve knit dress that goes with knee high boots. The fabric is a lightweight fabric so I thought about lining it. I think it could be rather clingy so nothing tight unless I could lose 20 pounds! Any suggestions?

I realize you're looking for new suggestions, but I think that knit jumper you made last year would look great with your boots!

I love vogue 1191. The double layer bodice lessens clinginess significantly.

Cheap fabrics, like cheap shoes, are a false economy.

This is one of my favorite patterns. I made the crossover, long sleeved version and I wear it with boots. It is such a forgiving dress that I doubt you would have to line much, maybe just the top. Sadly, it's out of print but if you have it or can find a copy, it's great.

My favourite dress to wear with boots is Vogue 1194. Here's my version of it in soft lightweight rayon/lycra jersey. It's a great dress and very comfortable. I wear boots all the time in winter and love wearing knit dresses too - so easy, just pull it on and you're ready to go. I've got a couple of other patterns that would be great and at some point I will make them up - Vogue 8379, Vogue 8489 and the now out of print HotPatterns 1062.

I'm debating on V1194 and Simplicity 3775. I love them both!

I love the 1194 too! I need to make that myself.
