Date: 12/22/11 9:07 PM I know some folks are not big fans of the Simplicity website, but... oooooh, it's so much nicer to browse the Burda patterns there than it was to try to slog through the Burda site! Yay! |

Date: 12/22/11 9:37 PM Speaking as a sorry excuse for a Mac user, I think it depends somewhat on the browser you employ (plus your computer literacy, of which I possess virtually none ). When I view Simplicity's site using Firefox, my favorite, it is a SALAD, total gibberish, completely overwritten and incomprehensible. It's fine on Safari, though. |

Date: 12/22/11 10:18 PM Thanks for metioning they are now on the Simplicity website. You're right! They are so much easier to not only browse but to actually see the garments and line drawings. I stopped buying Burda patterns because they were impossible to browse on-line. ------ Belinda. Melbourne, Australia

Wow, I'm a Firefox user, and I don't have that problem at all. But it will be fun to see the Burdas at last! Thanks for the heads up!------ ~Gem in the prairie |

Date: 12/23/11 0:25 AM I'm another Firefox user who has no issues with the Simplicity website. When they first changed the website it was horribly, horribly slow but they did fix it after a few months and it's been good every since. It certainly doesn't look like a tossed salad. ------ Belinda. Melbourne, Australia

Date: 12/23/11 2:02 AM This is what Simplicity's Home Page looks like on my screen when I open it in Firefox. As you can perhaps see, images and print overlap, and if I click on anything on the page, it gets worse!
Any ideas? -- Edited on 12/23/11 2:04 AM -- |

Date: 12/23/11 3:47 AM Elona, to me it looks like a problem with your font size settings under Firefox. Have you reset the fonts size, trying to make it larger? What about zooming the page to make things larger? Have you done either of these things?
Go to Tools | Options | Content, then under Fonts & Colors click on the Advanced button. What font size have you got selected, including the minimum font size?
Go to View | Zoom, is the Zoom Text Only turned on? If so, select Reset and see what happens. HTH ------ Belinda. Melbourne, Australia

Date: 12/23/11 4:30 AM Belinda, my Mac has somewhat different pulldown menus than you use, it seems, but under Preferences I found Content>Fonts & Colors, and no, I haven't mucked with these. The guy who set up my computer did all that when I bought it a couple of years ago. It is set for Times, size 14. Minimum font size is 'none.'
However, when I went to View>Zoom, the Zoom Text Only was turned on, and when I clicked Reset, the page shaped right up! I have no idea what this means, but thank you ever so much. You have solved a problem that has bugged me for a very long time. -- Edited on 12/23/11 4:32 AM -- |

Date: 12/23/11 6:54 AM I'm glad it helped Elona. You have to be able to read sewing and pattern websites, very important. When the zoom text only option is checked, anytime you zoom in on a website only the text becomes larger. I purposely use this option for the PR message board, hence why I know about it, but I've also done it accidently before. On my laptop the mouse pad is such that it's easy to zoom in on a website accidently. It can also be done via keyboard shortcuts, and again it's easy to do accidently. This is possibly what happened to you. ------ Belinda. Melbourne, Australia
