So I've been thinking about this, and decided to post here because I'll be a beginner for most of the things i want to do this year. This year, I would like to:

-use stash or keep it level overall for projects
-finish the clothes I started like 4yrs ago, the last time I was at this weight
-fearlessly try a few techniques including FMQ, make some swimsuits, and making a new dress from an old one
-sew a minimum of 3-4 days a week, even if it's only for a few minutes

Any goals in mind?

My goals are to reorganize my sewing supplies and fabric so I know what I have on hand. Also, to take the plunge and cut some of the really nice pieces which I have; these are fabrics that I seem to take out periodically, stroke, admire and end up returning to my stash because I'm afraid to use them, fearing that I will not do them justice.

I'd like to sew through my collection of wardrobe patterns this year. I do pretty well with coordinating colors in my wardrobe, but I need more practice in textures and overall silhouettes of each garment. I have some pieces that are the right color but don't go with much in my closet. I'm starting with M5890 and will make a top and pants or skirt. I have already made the cardi.

I want to participate in a sewalong for the Minoru jacket by Sewaholic Patterns.

Finally, sew for others at least a few times---I am feeling incredibly lucky to have all this sewing time.

HA I made that cardi and the sleevless dress to wear with it. One of my favorite outfits I can wear together or apor twith other things.

resolutions hmm!!!!! I expand my skills, still have to perfect coat lining I just struggle it always comes out wearable (doesn't show) but is always kind of wonky in some way.

Ok I will only buy fabric if I absolutely don't have anything else that will work already.

My one goal is to make something for myself that I actually wear out of the house :)

I have resolved to stop sewing for other people. I work full-time and I'm a newlywed. So by the time I get done with "can you hem my pants" and other such projects folks have commissioned me to do, I don't have much time to do things I want to do for myself. So once I get the things I've committed to doing off my plate, I'm going to push back on requests from other people.

My goal is very similar to yours, I'm a beginner sewer who is always buying fabric. I have a small collection of nice fabric that I too pull out and admire from time to time. I'm so afraid of messing up or wasting the fabric on a project gone wrong. I'm going to have make commitment to finally use what I have and just do the best that I can.

Finish projects! In general I have an issue with getting bored toward the end of something, but so far with sewing I've been actually finishing things. I want to keep that up. By the end of the year I want use all of my patterns at least once.
