Subject: Julies Picks at Fabric Mart Date: 1/20/12 11:18 PM I joined in October and got Nov, Dec and Jan. Unfortunately, the only fabric I wanted from the January group was already sold out... :( -- Edited on 1/20/12 11:19 PM -- ------ blog: goodworks1.wordpress.com

Date: 1/21/12 12:49 PM I re-subscribed (well, the spouse re-subscribed for me) before the end of the year and got January's. Sounds like something has gone wrong--definitely contact them.
The swatches are really fun to look at, even if you're reducing stash for lack of space. I learn things such as the weight of Melton wool and the hand of a rayon-linen blend (considerably drapier than linen). There are prints with lovely color combinations, too. (I'm not going to be able to hold off actual buying for much longer....) ------ Jeanne

Date: 1/21/12 1:05 PM I never resubscribed this year because by the time i would receive my swatches here in Canada many of the fabrics i wanted had already sold out. Very disappointing ------ Island Couture http://islandcouture.blogspot.ca/ |

Subject: Julies Picks at Fabric Mart Date: 1/21/12 1:17 PM I was going to get Julie's picks, but one of the main reasons I have shopped FM is the mystery bundles and now they are smaller cuts and not as useful for garment making.
I don't know if I'll do it now. I mean the fabric is nice and all, but there's a lot of other places that offer free shipping and more fabric choices (and about the same price) without that enticement to shop FM for me. |

Date: 1/22/12 10:09 AM Thanks for your imput. I emailed them to cancel it. Obviously, I am not on their list as a member. I didn't get any notification for the 25.00 credit either. |

Date: 1/22/12 11:46 PM I signed up, a new customer, and received my first swatch set within a week. I haven't ordered any fabric from them yet, but it's nice to know in advance that they run out quickly. One thing I didn't realize is that the swatch set is only good for a month... unlike Vogue Fabric Store, where I have some swatch sets from 3 years ago and they still have some of those fabrics. |

Date: 1/23/12 12:15 PM In the past I had ordered Julie's picks that were not current month by either sending an email or calling on the phone. |

They changed this late last year. Prior to that they did keep keep the fabrics up from prior months for several months (not years though). It is not an improvement as far as I'm concerned. I previously had been getting one or two from several months to combine shipping. Now when I just see one fabric I want, I'm usually unwilling to pay $8 shipping for one piece of fabric and skip it, knowing the fabric will be removed the next month. Instead of it spurring me to buy more, I simply buy less. This is decent enough for the budget I guess. ------ My sewing blog: weebeaks.blogspot.com
