Do Kwik Sew patterns ever go on sale? I have been using them for nearly 3 years now since I started sewing more clothing.... I love them ... but they are kinda pricey for my budget. ....Anyone know if they ever go on sale? And also who has them as our Hancock's is closing up Our JoAnn's doesn't have them here, neither does Hobby Lobby. sigh....

Thank you!

I thought they were always "on sale" here on PR. Don't we save like 20% on them? They are worth the $!

Wow! I was wondering this yesterday. I'd like to get this pattern for winter warmies but not for 12 bucks. Plus shipping. 20% off isn't even enough for me. I need $1.99.

Guess I'll figger that hood out myself...

That is what I was thinking... I would not even mind if they were $3.99 maybe .... but to me they are so pricey! One DH likes is
$ 21.95 I think, not sure but that is what I am thinking! WOW!

I've bought some on clearance at Nancy Notions and Clotilde. My local fabric store has a 40% coupon I can use on them. You might look at Ebay and Etsy too. I bought an oop of Etsy the other day for $4.00.

I don't think they ever get down to the sale prices of the Big 4 unless you luck into a store-closing sale or find them secondhand. I seem to remember Hancock's having a sale last year where they were 50% or similar, and that was pretty noteworthy and unusual.

I, and I know many others, have had bad luck with sewingpatterns.com, but you might check them if you're desperate for the lowest price.

I've only seen them once at Hancocks for 20% off and then once or twice fabric.com had KS as their "daily" sale, for either 15% or 20% off. I found a few at the thrift shop for $1.50, but they are dated -'80's- '90's maybe, but of course I purchased them.

I felt they were worth the extra $ for me as a beginner - they were purported to have excellent instructions (cheaper than a class, which I couldn't find anyway) and they could easily be traced off in different sizes. This was also great for someone who had no idea what pattern size she was (and I didn't know at the time I would need an FBA and so many alterations). I could also trace off several sizes for both DH and DS from one pattern. I like the sale prices of the tissue patterns, but hate the tissue paper - almost impossible to trace, and then by the time I'm done fitting them, I've had to purchase several of the same pattern, so I'm practically at the 20% off KS price anyway. So for sewers who know what sizes you need and how to sew (and live closer than an hour to a Joann or Hancock), it's probably not worth the extra $, but for me it was, esp w/free shipping at fabric.com.
edited to say "free shipping w/$35 purchase"

edited to add: When fabric.com has them on sale and you have an additional discount coupon or code, it can really bring the price down. That's how I got my first few patterns. I'll have to watch for the PR sale next time.

Sewingpatterns.com had two 30% off sales on them during the holidays. You'd have to pay shipping though. I know a lot of members don't like them but I haven't had much trouble with them. Once in the past there was a pattern in my order on backorder and when I e-mailed them about it I didn't get a reply, but it arrived in a couple of weeks. This time I ordered 3 Kwik Sews and one of them was on backorder (3915). It was taking longer than what they estimated so I e-mailed them and I got a reply! So they're improving. It arrived shortly after that. But Kwik Sew is expensive for me too. They're not carried in the stores around here either.

I buy mine at my local Hancocks fabric store, as I'm lucku enough to actually have a lace local that sells them and they have been doing that for just years and years. I actually have never, ever seen them go on sale there ever inside that real store. But of course, I'm not there most of the time, and only go shopping there, for an hour or two, maybe once every few months. I do get their in store flyer's though by mail, that lists their sales within the store there, and even though all their other brand patterns go on special sale often and on rotation, seems to me like their Kwick Sew ones never do.

Sometimes Ebay will come through with better prices, usually with older patterns. I don't see them on sale very often though. I have purchased some from Fabric.com with coupons and free shipping.

I might be weeding out a few of my Kwik Sew patterns soon, mostly patterns for men because I started drafting from scratch again and just finished a very good sloper for pants for DH today. Were you looking at any specific patterns? If I get my stuff together I will hopefully be listing a couple on the PR classifieds in the next couple of weeks.
